About ECHO
What Does Echo Meals on Wheels Look Like?
ECHO is a non-profit corporation operating under the name ECHO Meals on Wheels West, Inc., created to serve those who are homebound due to disability, injury, illness, accident, or age. We rely solely on volunteers and monetary donations, through gifts and fund raising. Founded in 1969 by several churches, we have moved from meal prep in volunteers’ homes to a fully equipped commercial kitchen in Camillus Town Hall. Meal prep may sound like work, but it is quite the opposite. Our volunteers look forward to their serving spot every week, and the bond we create serving together is unbreakable.
Mid-day Monday through Friday, we create warmth and smiles in our communities with home food delivery for our homebound, elderly, and disabled. We even offer frozen meals and bagged lunches to be delivered on Fridays in preparation for the weekend, if desired. We have standard meals we provide, and we also honor individual food preferences and dietary needs. Just let us know when you, or someone you are caring for, signs up.
Meals can be received by contacting ECHO Meals on Wheels and simply signing up. See our contact page for more information. There is no age requirement and no need to prove your income. We trust in the goodness of our neighbors.
ECHO cannot exist without its volunteers, and volunteers are always needed. We need food prep workers, delivery drivers, kitchen helpers, shoppers, and many other positions. Basically, if you have a desire to serve, we have a position for you. We love our area of Onondaga county, and we know you do too. Please consider volunteering with ECHO Meals on Wheels and begin making a difference. No one in our communities should be homebound without a meal.
